TANDEM SIZING
Co-Motion tandem sizing is designed for a wide spectrum of fitting options, and a stronger, lighter and more graceful frame.
WHERE TO START
It's best to put the taller rider up front in the captain's position, while the smaller rider is the best choice for the rear (stoker) position.
PICK A SIZE
Select the tandem size which best fits the captain, and then consider the stoker's fit. Stokers don't need stand-over clearance to achieve a comfortable position.
MAKING A CHOICE
Notice that each of you may fit more than one size. We suggest looking very carefully at one of the most overlooked aspects of bicycle fit:
ADJUSTING REACH
Make sure the combination of top tube length + stem matches your needs. To fine-tune your fit, we have nine choices of front stems and two adjustable stoker stem choices. If you're not sure about your positioning, you may use our 13-point fitting guide and request assistance.
CHOOSE CRANK LENGTHS
Make sure you get the right crank length. Co-Motion offers tandem cranksets in several lengths to fine tune the fit to your needs. Check your model's specs for crank length information.
UNPRECEDENTED ADJUSTABILITY
Our PeriScope tandems change many things we've come to accept about sizing. No matter what kind of fitting problems you may have had with other tandems, a PeriScope tandem will likely fit you to a "T".
TAKE THE EDGE OFF
Suspension seatposts: Deduct 2.5" (64mm) from the low end of the inseam range to allow room for the Thudbuster ST seatpost. Other suspension posts may require more room.

The Primera is a semi-compact frame that is designed to fit like the more traditional tandems listed above (Speedster, Supremo, Robusta). As a compact frame, it has improved stand-over clearance, especially for the stoker. This increases the range of sizes it will fit.

The Mocha has a compact frame that is designed for improved stand-over clearance, for both riders. The smaller sizes work very well for small stature riders, but the full size range will work for a broad range of cyclists.

The Java with its large 29" wheels and fat tires cannot accommodate riders as small as many of our other models, especially in the captain position. The frame is compact to minimize stand-over clearance height.
